La derecha, pero sobre todo la izquierda, se había dividido generacionalmente, y por primera vez se traducía en un reparto diferente de la representación política. But, perhaps most importantly, his campaign recognizes the very real economic challenges facing young voters, who not only have more debt than any other young generation in U.S. history, but also face higher unemployment and more depressed wages than their elders. Se così fosse queste elezioni avrebbero dato una risposta a uno dei puzzle di più difficile soluzione per gli studiosi di relazioni intergenerazionali: l’assenza di conflitto generazionale pur in presenza di forti squilibri di welfare tra giovani e anziani.
